Want Your Church to Become Open & Affirming? Building an Inclusive Church Toolkit Training Coming to FCC Des Moines (and Kansas City, and Minneapolis)
The Building an Inclusive Church Toolkit is the material you need for a grace-filled journey towards becoming an Open & Affirming congregation. The Toolkit was developed ecumenically by the Institute for Welcoming Resources. The Toolkit is grounded in Tool #1, Graceful Engagement and includes tools for One to One Visits, Strategic Storytelling, and more. It is highly recommended that you become familiar with the Toolkit before planning an Open & Affirming process for your congregation.
Even better, attend a training on the Building an Inclusive Church Toolkit!
This October 16 & 17, First Christian Church in Des Moines, IA, will host one of the many trainings available. This particular weekend, Rev. Debra Peevy, Disciple and Lead Ecumenical Trainer for the Institute for Welcoming Resources, and Rev. Mark Johnston, Executive Director of GLAD’s Open & Affirming Ministry Program, will be the lead trainers.
Other trainings are listed on the GLAD Calendar. Currently there are trainings scheduled for Aug 28-29 in Northfield, MN, and September 25-26 in Lenexa, KS.
