In the following video, Disciples throughout the Mid-America region share stories of welcome. Church communities who are living into what it means to be Open & Affirming share experiences of joy and struggle. Disciples LGBTQ+ Alliance leaders provide relevant definitions and explanations as well as an overview of resources for the journey of welcome, for those who are beginning or re-engaging their welcome.
Some of the speakers have moved on from their ministry sites — you’ll meet Jimmy who has since supported another congregation through the welcoming journey. The stories and wisdom are enduring. We use this video as an introduction to the welcoming journey.
