A Message from your Moderators: working together for justice and liberation

Hello AllianceQ members,

Peace and love to each of you! It’s hard to believe we are already in the month of May. So much has changed over the past few months, but so much has stayed the same. We are grateful for the continued distribution of COVID-19 vaccinations; however, the virus is still wreaking havoc in our communities. Last month, we saw a rare instance of accountability when it comes to policing in our country when a jury found Derek Chauvin guilty of murdering George Floyd.  Yet, police across the country have continued to kill black and brown people in the days since. While we celebrate progress, we mourn our losses. It is as important as ever to be working for justice and liberation.

The AllianceQ Council is continuing our commitment to intersectional justice. Over the past few months, we have been taking inventory of the organization, celebrating the places where we have grown, and identifying the areas that still need work. As we move forward in our efforts, we are excited to begin the process of electing new members to join the Council. Please visit this webpage for more information about the Council and the elections process. If you know of someone you think would be an asset to the Council (this person may be you!), we encourage you to submit a nomination. If we work together, we help realize equity, justice, and liberation in the Alliance, the Church, and our world.

Fight on,
Luther and Alysha
