PRIDE Pre-Party

Join us on May 22 — it’s Harvey Milk Day! — for a PRIDE Pre-Party.

Pride–and the fierce urgency for hope–must stretch beyond a single month, filling every single day and every single space with color.” -August Laperche, from the Introduction to Colors of Hope: A Devotional Journal from LGBTQ+ Christians

Harvey Milk is known for his hope speech: “You gotta give them hope.”

During our Pride Pre-Party, we will:

  2. Hear brief comments about Harvey Milk and how/where the Harvey Milk Foundation is sharing hope today.
  3. Learn + share ways to celebrate Pride during Pride Month and all year long.
  4. Preview brand new AllianceQ merch + get a free AllianceQ sticker set that will help you display your pride ($10 value, must provide mailing address in registration form and attend the May 22 gathering).

Have you seen Milk?

For fun:

1. Plan your outfit.

Wear a fave Pride shirt to our May 22 gathering. Maybe it’s the saying or artwork; maybe you’ll rep an LGBTQ+ org.

2. Make your own Pride snack platter.

Depending on your time zone, this can be an appetizer or evening snack.

Plate up some blackberries, blueberries, kiwis, pineapple, mango, and strawberries. You can also turn this into a rainbow sangria. Recipe linked here.

3. Download a Pride Zoom background.

Use it during our event and all of Pride month. Here’s an AllianceQ Pride background.

On your own:

1. Begin listening to Pride playlists or create your own.

2. Get involved with LGBTQ+ organizations.

3. Host a petite Pride parade.

Do you work in an office space with other folx? Assign everyone float themes and have them dress accordingly. Have everyone decorate their desks in honor of Pride and take a tour. You can also host all this during a Zoom call. Think Zoom backgrounds, dress-up, and desk/table decor that can be shared online.
