Wedding Congratulations!

Crossbeams and the GLAD Alliance celebrate with two couples on their recent weddings.

Congratulations to Rev. Audrey Connor and Miranda Cook who were married at National City Church in Washington DC on October 7th. After the small ceremony in DC the couple looks forward to celebrating with close friends and family in Kentucky this year. Audrey is GLAD’s Communications Team Leader and is currently focused on organizing GLAD’s 2014 Easter Writing Project, announced elsewhere in this issue of Crossbeams.

Congratulations are also in order to Rachel and Rebecca who were married in a small backyard service in Arizona. Officiating was their pastor, Rev. Doug Bland of Community Christian Church in Tempe, AZ. Doug shared with us a comment from the wedding photographers: “Now when we think of religion & equality they just don’t mix, but Rachel & Rebecca go to a church that accepts all love and all people. So to see their pastor marry them, like any other couple, was quite monumental.” Such a witness for welcome and a church that welcomes all!
