Statement of Accountability

Statement of Accountability

December 13, 2023

Hello siblings,

We are excited to grow in ministry alongside all of you. As an organization that values accountability + transparency, it is important for us to acknowledge where we fall short and take action to do better.

AllianceQ members, open + affirming ministries, and friends have raised concerns about unreliable communication and significant delays in action from us. For this, we sincerely apologize. Our mission includes “transforming the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) into a just and inclusive church,” and inaccessibility on the part of our ministry does not align with this mission.

The Council and staff have been and will continue to be in communication with each other to address these concerns. We have acutely ascertained that AllianceQ cannot continue to function as an organization with a single staff person. We are on track to hire additional staff members by the end of February 2024. We are also aware that our website does not reflect current information and have been working with a web designer to launch a new site with updated information by the end of this calendar year.

We truly appreciate the honest feedback from our members, ministries, and friends. As the Council and staff work to correct these and other issues, we will keep you all updated on our plans and progress. Thank you for holding us accountable and for your grace as we learn and grow.

In expectation,

Rev. Luther Young, Jr., Council Moderator

Jeff Tobin, Council Secretary

Eli Burton, Council Treasurer

Leticia Leon, Council Member

Erin Gresham, Council Member

Rev. RJ Robles, Council Member

Evan Stanfill, Council Member

Rev. Ari Douglas, Council Member
