Remembering David Nickell

With heavy hearts we report the passing of David Nickel, former moderator of the GLAD Alliance Council, leader in the Disciples Justice Action Network, and member of Edmond Trinity Christian Church.

His passion for justice, his courage in the face of difficult health challenges, and his love of life will remain an example for us all.

David’s legacy is well summed up by this memory shared by Randy Palmer on GLAD’s Facebook page:

With the passing of David Nickell from Oklahoma City, we have lost a wonderful, loving man. It was my pleasure to have met him in 1991 at a tumultuous General Assembly in Tulsa. He connected with GLAD Alliance and, without knowing any of us previously, he offered to do whatever was necessary to support GLAD’s presence at the General Assembly. He quickly became a friend and someone I looked forward to seeing at future General Assemblies and GLAD Alliance Events through the years. David will be missed!
