Kansas City Event Open & Affirming Event

General Assembly resolution GA-1327 “Becoming a People of Grace and Welcome to All” has generated discussion around the denomination.

That discussion will continue for pastors and church leaders on Saturday, February 22, at Saint Andrew Christian Church in Olathe, KS. This event, hosted by Saint Andrew Christian Church and New Song Christian Church, will include stories of inclusion and information about tools and resources available from the GLAD Alliance. Rev. Dr. Mark Johnston, Executive Director of GLAD’s Open & Affirming Ministry Program, will be on hand to share the ecumenically tested Building and Inclusive Church Toolkit that guides a congregation through an Open & Affirming process gracefully.

The event will be held from 9:00 am-Noon (beginning with a fellowship time at 8:30 am). A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
