Book Review: To the Tune of a Welcoming God

David Weiss, author of To the Tune of a Welcoming God, is a straight ally who works for LGBT inclusion in the Lutheran Church (ELCA). This book, a collection of essays, reflections, and sermons along with poems and hymns, ranges from Biblical interpretation to calls for justice.

Weiss includes several clear and heartfelt essays on the gifts that come with including LGBT people in our churches and the damage that is done when we don’t.

Perhaps not a book that everyone wants to read cover to cover, but a useful reference for preaching, Sunday School, or study group material. To the Tune of a Welcoming God is a fine resource when developing an O&A process.
