L. William Countryman & M. R. Ritley, 2001 (format: Book)
Explores what it means to affirm, not merely accept, being gay or lesbian, as well as Christian. Written primarily for the lgbt community, they explore the ways in which the gay and lesbian community can appropriate and re-tell the biblical story, and find confidence in their unique spiritual journey and gifts. This pro-active and self-affirming book provides new hope for those who feel that it is impossible to be gay or lesbian, as well as Christian.
Daniel Gebhardt, 2010 (format: Book)
Gebhardt is an HIV positive gay man who has created a book full of meditations and prayers on how to live life without the negative restrictions imposed on one’s self that can come with that disease. However, what he has unwittingly done is created a text just as applicable to anyone, with or without disease, that liberates both the mind and soul and states in a little under a hundred and thirty pages that we are all human but despite our humanness are never truly helpless.
