Volunteering for the Trevor Project
The Trevor Project, founded in 1998, is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.
The Trevor Project offers lots of great resources such as the Lifeguard Workshop for middle and high school teachers, counselors, and other staff, trainings for other youth serving professionals, and model district policies on suicide prevent for school administrators.
You can also get involved as a volunteer with the Trevor Project.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people, and LGBT young people are 4 times more likely to attempt suicide than their straight peers.
The Trevor Project is one place where you and your congregation can help.
