Mark Johnston, Executive Director of GLAD’s Open & Affirming Ministry Program, points out that this is actually the wrong question!
Dr. Johnston points out that for some congregations, talking about an Open & Affirming Process is fraught with fear and anxiety.

Dr. Johnston emphasizes that any church, no matter where it stands today along the spectrum from not welcoming LGBT people to ready to proclaim an Open & Affirming welcome, will benefit from the tools and resources offered by the Building an Inclusive Church training.
