Newly elected Council Chaplain

Please join us in welcoming and congratulating Rev. RJ Robles (he/they/ellé) as the Chaplain of the Disciples LGBTQ+ Alliance Council, elected by your Council at its November 2022 meeting.

RJ joined the Council in 2020. He is a Puerto Rican queer and transgender community organizer, healer, and Christian minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Active in many areas of our ministry, RJ participated in the Transgender Day of Remembrance Prayers and Reflections in November and they preached for Virtual Pulpit Supply in March.

According to the Design of the Disciples LGBTQ+ Alliance, the Council Chaplain “shall provide spiritual leadership to the Alliance and the Council.” The Chaplain will work closely with our Executive Director + Minister to address the pastoral needs of LGBTQ+ people, one of three missional priorities. We are honored to have such a qualified and caring individual provide us with pastoral care and ministry.
