United Against Oppression with Rev. April Johnson, Minister of Reconciliation

1979 was pivotal moment in the history of the Alliance. Many remember well what was going on in the life of LGBT movement within the Christian church during this time, but are we are also aware of what was happening in the racial Reconciliation ministry in 1979? The workshop seeks to reflect on the past of these two marginalized movements within the Christian church and imagine a future together.

The year is now 2019, how can these two ministries work together to imagine a brighter future for the church? The future hope of wholeness in our fragmented world will be done through intersectional justice. We must imagine how the alliance and reconciliation might move forward together united against oppression within our churches and society.
